B. Scott Short – Founder and President
After graduating with a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of South Florida in 1981, Scott began working for a major Florida construction company as a field engineer. He quickly moved into the roles of Project Manager and then Vice President. He left the firm in 1985 to become a founding partner of CenState Contractors, Inc. and eventually became the sole owner and President of the company in 1993. Under his leadership, the company has successfully completed projects for various municipalities and private owners throughout the state and region. He is a hands-on leader who continues to manage daily operations, overseeing all facets of the business.
Jessica Watwood – Project Management Assistant
Jessica has worked in the water and wastewater construction industry for more than 11 years. She first joined CenState Contractors, Inc. in 2008 as an Administrative Assistant and Receptionist. Since then, Jessica has become an invaluable asset to CenState and has advanced into the role of Project Management Assistant. She works closely with project managers and is involved in both the bidding process and construction management of a project.
Jenn Prater – Bookkeeper
Jenn has been with the firm since 2020 and handles all financial records, including accounts payable and payroll. She works with the project managers on material releases, purchase orders and subcontract agreements, change orders, invoices, and job costing. Jenn relocated from Ohio where she held various positions for over 15 years including bookkeeping, payroll, and office management.
Shawna Bolognia – Administrative Assistant
A native of California, Shawna moved to Florida in 1998 and worked in the food distribution industry in marketing and accounting roles. She joined CenState in 2018 and oversees various administrative duties for the firm.
